“It was better than just reading the book, which is an excellent resource; but receiving instruction with the book through this training made it clearer, and I was better able to stay focused. I am hoping to enroll in ERM – Advanced!”
- Senior Records Officer, Legal, Major Telecom
"I LOVED this class because it sets the basic knowledge level for all members of a team and
does so by progressively disclosing the required knowledge in a logical fashion for folks rolling out
IG programs to cover paper & electronic records (as we are).” RIM Program Lead, Fortune 500 Corp.
The ERM Basic Concepts and Fundamentals (“ERM-B”) and the ERM Advanced Methods and Best Practices (“ERM-A”) online classes are based primarily on Chapters 1-23 of the book, Managing Electronic Records: Methods, Best Practices and Technologies (Wiley, 2013). The classes are held in a live, interactive setting, delivered remotely. Attendees can electronically “raise their hand” and ask questions, and collaborate with others in virtual breakout sessions.
ERM-B is for those with little or no experience in ERM; it is helpful if the participants have a foundational understanding of records management and information technology concepts and practices.
ERM-A is for those who have completed the ERM-B class successfully, or for those who have had some training and experience in ERM. Those who have taken AIIM’s ERM Master or Specialist classes would benefit from this advanced course.
Each 3-day ERM Basics and ERM Advanced class is approved for 14 Certification Maintenance Points for CRMs, as approved by the Institute for Certified Records Managers.
Our IGP Prep Crash Course prepares students to pass the ARMA Information Governance Professional exam - guaranteed! In just 3 days of 3 hour online sessions, plus homework assignments including viewing a 2-hour into video, and after the classes are complete, reviewing other videos on information risk assessment and strategic planning, along with taking a practice IGP exam, you will be ready to pass the IGP with flying colors! Any student not passing the exam who has done the required course work is entitled to a full refund.
Our IG for Executives online training is a 3-hour “crash course” for executives considering IG programs. We hit the high points from an executive perspective and keep it straightforward and clear. You come away with actionable knowledge imparted by experts after investing just one afternoon of your time.
Included in the course is a free copy ($49 value) of Robert Smallwood’s new book, Information Governance for Executives: Fundamentals and Strategies (2016). So you will have that resource to keep with you as a reference as you move forward with your IG program. More info here.
For the live online classes, we use WebEx for delivering the HD video classes and so, if taking the class at work, you must be able to install the WebEx client on your PC (many organizations require approval before installing new software), which you can test load from here:http://www.webex.com/test-meeting.html
You can use any browser, (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, or Safari for Mac) but Explorer is preferred. You will need a direct broadband connection, as WiFi may be too slow to steadily receive the HD video stream.
Also, you should have a working mic and speaker on your PC since we use VoIP to transmit audio. Although you will have the ability to raise your hand electronically and to submit questions via chat, a mic will allow you to, at times, participate in Q&A discussions following each chapter..
